There is so much real and artificial grain and noise added post-production in the earlier seasons you would need almost 15k bitrate to preserve it, that would make the first 6 episodes of season 1 almost 30GB in total with very little savings compared to just getting the remux or just buying the Blurays themselves. \r\n\r\nIn addition to just The Walking Dead there would be so many requests for the rest of the franchise as well such as Fear, World Beyond, Tales, Dead City, Daryl Dixon and The Ones Who Live so if somebody took it on it would take almost an entire year to encode everything. \r\n\r\nI'm not saying that somebody in the team wouldn't do it but the cost/reward of doing it is so low that other shows get a higher priority first. If somebody does take it on then praise them because it is not going to be a fun job to do.
