Fun fact: Unlike many contemporary animated films that lean heavily into fantasy, I Am What I Am intentionally grounds its lion dance sequences in realistic physics and choreography. The production team studied real competitive lion dance troupes to accurately replicate footwork, rhythm, and performance structure, giving the film an unusual authenticity for an animated sports drama.
